This project highlights an avionics PCB developed for use within the Metropolitan Aerospace Rocket Society (MARS) at Toronto Metropolitan University. MARS is a student rocketry group focused on helping students learn how to design, manufacture, and launch model rockets, while supporting them through the build process and giving top teams opportunities such as Launch Canada certification events.
The goal of this board was to create a practical and affordable avionics solution that fits the needs of its use case well. Rather than overcomplicating the design, the focus was on building reliable flight hardware that is appropriate for student rocketry and real project integration.
This board reflects the kind of work I am most interested in: avionics hardware, embedded systems, and PCB design for aerospace applications. My broader interests include UAVs and drones, rocketry, flight electronics, and the development of hardware that can move from bench testing into real flight systems.
